Dreaming of France with Fleurishing

Already a blogger I was interested in meeting, Lindsey from Lost in Cheeseland insisted over coffee at a quaint Paris café a few months back that I connect with Susan from Fleurishing. How could I disagree? After chatting on twitter and through our blogs, Susan and I were finally able to get together over the most delicious dinner at Philadelphia’s gem of a French restaurant (and a personal favorite), Bistrot La Minette.

Feeling disconnected from the world of social media lately, it was nice to bring it home becoming acquainted with such a talented, inspiring blogger and designer. And as Lindsey predicted, Susan and I had an instant connection over our shared passions for travel, design and glasses of rosé. In fact, we were having such a great conversation, I forgot to snap a picture of us! I guess we’ll just have to wait for Susan’s next visit to Paris…

Susan has given me the pleasure of participating in her delightful Proust Q & A series – today you’ll find me there, answering some very interesting questions from my favorite foods to my biggest flaw. I hope you enjoy!

Oh! And dinner at Bistrot La Minette was delicious and brought me right back to my days in Provence with duck in a lingering cassis sauce, white asparagus and glasses of rosé. If you are in the Philadelphia area, you don’t want to miss this delight!

You are too sweet Stephanie, merci! It was great to meet you in person, and yes, we forgot to take a shot together…must have been the rosé! I loved La Minette and can’t wait to go back. Many thanks to Lindsey for suggesting we meet, and even though I know we’ll keep in touch, I wish you safe travels!! xo

I hope you make it back to La Minette! I’m sure you and your husband would have a wonderful time especially on a movie night! Isn’t there back courtyard fabulous? We certainly owe Lindsey our gratitude :) Looking forward to keeping in touch and can’t wait to read your post on the restaurant.

I’m SO SO glad I met you Stephanie and even happier that you hit it off with Susan! She is one of my all-time favorite people and the fact that we’re all from (or living in) Philly is reason enough to stick together! Stephanie, we now have all the time in the world to get even better acquainted :) You’re going to do wonderfully, promise.

I thought you might be! And thank you for your kind words above – I’m looking forward to many more chances for us to get to know each other better in Paris. The move is that much easier knowing I already have a few very wonderful people to continue building friendships with. Susan was an absolute delight and the best company at La Minette. One day we can hope we’re all in Philadelphia around the same time so we can take advantage of their divine menu!

The potatoes were good but that sauce was to die for! It was so perfectly French and delicious for sure!

Hi Stephanie! After a very hectic spring, just got a chance to catch up on your blog. So happy to read your news and I wish you the very best. Loved reading about your road trip and your suggestions of places to visit. Also, since I am always watching French films, I will use your language learning tips. I’m still searching for my path the get a job and find a way to live in France. Kudos to you girl for making it happen!

Search with all of your heart! I took a less than ideal opportunity and it has lead me to my dream! Didn’t feel like it would at the time though and I felt like a sacrificed quite a lot to get there. Best of luck and glad you were able to catch up! I know what you mean by hectic!

I’m loving the new look Stephanie! I had seen it earlier, and had wanted to mention it – kept slipping my mind.

Wonderful post!

Amber, so glad you loved the feature! The new look was inspired by current Paris trends :) It reminds me of circa 1910 fashions.
